Meditation February 7, 2018
For those of us who are experiencing great fear and disgust at the actions of those in power: we must observe without judgment, and we must tend to our own inner state first. Peace begins with me.
As I feel these feelings wash over me and envelop me, I don’t resist them, I let them be. They are real, and they need recognition and respect. I AM the only one who is responsible for what is going on in me. Breathe in and breathe out: I AM, I AM, I AM.
When I am detesting the president, who is the experiencer? I AM, I AM, I AM.
When I am astounded at the GOP veering off into alt rightism, who is experiencing the astonishment?: I AM, I AM, I AM.
When I fear the fact-free attacks on our federal law enforcement agencies, who is the fearful one? I AM, I AM, I AM
When I despair, truly despair, that our country will never recover from this debacle, who is the desperate one? I AM, I AM, I AM
And I AM now facing these horrors within me, knowing that the outer is but a reflection of my inner state. I take it one thought, one judgment, one feeling at a time. As I breathe in, and breathe out, I feel awareness opening up within me, and Peace taking the place of Fear.
Now, from this state of Peace, I can choose again. My words and actions will reflect who I really am. No excuses. Peace begins with me.
